meaning “Inspiration” in the ancient Indian Language
of Sanskrit. Prerana
is a Non-Profit-Organization born on the 11th
May 1997. Prerana is
the result of coming together of several like minded individuals who are
determined to make a positive difference to the society we live in. Infopace

the society at large. About Prerana The main thrusts of Prerana are: 1.Promoting
Education among the under privileged children. 3.Cultural Awareness: to educate children of the rich diversity of the Indian culture and at the same time develop a unique and progressive blend of the “old” and the “new”. 4.Environmental Awareness: Prerana is aggressively working towards creating and sustaining awareness about the environment that we live in ; amongst the children who are the custodians of our environment. Right from
its conception Prerana
has been supporting young minds from the less fortunate
section of the society in order to support them in their education and
upbringing. What the society needs to day is not high sounding degrees
but communities with value based enlightenment within the privacy of their
of their minds. Further this has to be guided to maturity and made applicable
to permeate in all aspects of daily life. It is Prerana's
conviction that every individual should hold his/her head high
in the community and there should be no place for fear and moral decay.
To make this a reality Prerana
strives to reach out to individuals as it their
right to receive this enlightenment irrespective of their status in the
society. Empowering Women: Prerana seriously works towards empowering women in the society. Prerana firmly believes that the women are backbone of the social fabric. The organization constantly strives towards the upliftment and providing financial independence through vocational training; Prerana makes sure that the voices of women are heard, empowering them with education that make women more involved in actively building a harmonious community. Cultural Awareness: With the growing urbanization and dependence on technology for even the simplest of mundane activity. There has been in recent times a growing sense of pseudo culture of promiscuity, falsehood and depression of individuals amongst the new tech savvy generation.Prerana is committed to bringing cultural awareness which is the fabric of the society and constantly striving to establish harmony between the “old” and the “new” in order to blend the new within the fold of our traditions, customs and ethos. Environmental Awareness:Environment has been a major causality because of the greed of man. Felling of precious forests and constant burning of fossil fuels, emission of toxic gases into the atmosphere, reckless discharge of hazardous chemicals into streams and sheer neglect towards the environment have made irreparable damage to the eco-System . Prerana is committed to imbibe a culture that will bring respect for the environment and work for the judicious removal of garbage and filth that is choking the eco-system. Thereby enhance the practice of planting saplings and making the neighborhood a beautiful place to live in.
